Like many great musicians, their musical journey started at secondary school and we are offering your child that same start. Playing a musical instrument is a rewarding activity that is not only enjoyable, but the skills developed will help with all other school work. It is proven that learning to play a musical instrument at an early age has many benefits to the growing brain and can have a big impact on improving performance in other subjects.

Here at Outwood Academy Freeston we offer your child instrumental lessons and the opportunity to play in bands with other musicians. We can offer lessons on virtually any instrument. The 1-2-1 lesson lasts 20 minutes and takes place during the academy day. Students will come out of their normal lessons to have their instrument lesson.

There is a cost for the lessons which stands at £13 per 20 minute lesson. This is charged termly before the lessons start (So on average, IO weeks = £ 130 term term). Lessons are paid for via Parent Pay. However, we are very fortunate to be able to offer a bursary to cover these costs for those students studying Music at KS4 and those students who have free school meals/pupil premium.
