What key messages about your subject area would you like to share?

Maths lessons at Outwood Academy Freeston are always fun and engaging. You will learn why Maths works as well as how. Typical lessons use manipulatives such as counters, mini white boards, multilink cubes etc to help you to understand the fundamentals behind Maths. It encourages curiosity and questions. You can take lots of approaches with Maths. Maths is a journey and finding the answer is always satisfying. Our curriculum aims to help you to become more fluid and realise that you can approach a problem in more than one way, and to equip you with the skills to decide for yourself which approach you want to take to solve it!

I love teaching, especially Maths. There are always those moments where you can see a student has understood something, you can see an invisible light bulb go 'click' and it is a great feeling that you helped them get there. Knowing you have been a part of helping a someone succeed and take those next steps towards their future is very rewarding :)

I enjoy reading, going to the theatre, board games, quizzes, music and shopping :)

Outwood Academy Freeston is a really friendly school. It appears big at first but it does not take long to find your bearings. Everyone looks out for one another and it is a really nice community to be a part of.
