Specialist in teaching History

History is a fascinating subject! I always think it is a little bit like being a detective, as a big part of history is looking at clues, evidence and setting up enquiries to work out what actually happened in the past. You will examine how useful evidence is and then make inferences from it; these are two key skills that will make you excellent Historians! Throughout your time at Freeston, you will learn a LOT in history. I love my subject and nothing beats teaching students history and watching students learn to love it as well! This year we have had a number of students apply to do A level History at college, that makes me feel we have done a good job as we have got students passionate about the subject! I love supporting our students and encouraging them every day to be the very best that they can be.

I LOVE hiking and walking and one of the most precious things to me are my walking boots! I also enjoy reading and watching films, and yes, these are often based around history. One of my all time favourite hobbies would be shopping, which unfortunately is not always financially ideal!

Outwood Academy Freeston is the friendliest school you will ever go to! I have taught here for nearly two years now and I feel like I have never taught anywhere else; staff and students are so welcoming and supportive.
